Over the last six years there has been a 27.9 per cent growth in demand for Queensland Health emergency department services in the state’s busiest hospitals. This significant growth is projected to intensify, and in addition to the global COVID-19 pandemic changing the way services are delivered, Queensland’s health system must continue to evolve.
Our patient flow agenda is designed to do just that; by identifying, evaluating and expanding proven models, programs and initiatives we are working with hospital and health services to improve emergency access and patient flow.
