Showcase 2021

Maintaining healthcare delivery during the pandemic

5–6 October 2021

It seems nothing can get in the way of clinicians and innovation, with Brisbane’s Powerhouse reaching its full 75 per cent COVIDSafe capacity for Clinical Excellence Showcase 2021, held on October 5 and 6.

Clinical Excellence Showcase has always been designed for “the punters” – the healthcare staff at the forefront wanting to do things better and to learn the tools of the innovation trade. And Showcase 2021 was no different with the delivery of our first-ever “hybrid” Showcase. Delegates could dial-in online and move between rooms virtually as well as engage with in-person delegates and speakers via the CEQ Events App.

It was a true reflection of the lessons learnt during COVID in terms of doing things differently and collaborating online.

Highlights across the two days included Olympic medalist Dane Bird-Smith who shared his struggles with mental health whilst at the height of his career, a fireside chat with the UQ vaccination team, a ‘how to’ Telehealth workshop, and the ever-popular Great Debate.

The third season of the Clinical Excellence Showcase podcast is currently rolling out, so subscribe wherever you listen to your podcasts to relive all this year’s presentations. Be sure to follow us on Facebook so you don’t miss out on the episodes as they drop. You’ll also find out about all future Showcase events on Facebook, so hit that like button!

Our presenters are the clinicians and administrators at the coalface who have successfully navigated healthcare system challenges to deliver change, improvement and innovation in their own health service.
